Moses Journey of Resilience and Ambition

Moses, 23, is a determined young man from Dagoretti whose journey reflects the power of mentorship, perseverance, and opportunity. Raised by a single mother in a family of nine children, Moses has been supported from an early age through Daylove Children’s Project, a partner of Hand in Hand.

After completing his education, Moses chose to pursue a Certificate in Plumbing at Nakuru Training Institute, where he is expected to graduate in December 2026. His goal is to build a sustainable career while continuing to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a professional footballer.

Despite financial challenges, Moses has remained focused and resourceful. With support from Hand in Hand and Daylove Children’s Project, he has continued his studies while earning income through Kenya’s Kazi Mtaani youth initiative and occasional plumbing jobs in his community.

Moses is also an active football player with Ruthimitu FC, helping the team progress from county-level to regional competitions. Through Hand in Hand Foundation’s 'The Making of a Champion' mentorship programme, he has developed confidence, discipline, teamwork, and a strong sense of purpose, qualities that have shaped him both on and off the field.

Looking to the future, Moses hopes to establish himself as a professional plumber and succeed in football, enabling him to improve his family’s living conditions. One of his greatest ambitions is to provide his mother with a water tank and pump to address the family’s water challenges.

His story is a powerful reminder that, with determination, mentorship, and support, young people can overcome adversity and create brighter futures for themselves and their communities.
