Roger
and Josie Masters have fostered children for many years in the
UK. When they went on holidays to Peru and saw the poverty in
which many of the children in Lima live, they decided that these
children needed help as well. For this reason they founded The
Hand In Hand Trust in 1997. Since starting the first "Cuna" or nursery the trust now operates three centres in different locations around Lima providing care and development in a very special way for more than 120 children. We have had much interest and support from a Peruvian ministry, Promudeh, the ministry for Women and Human Development who support us by donating basic foodstuff. They have suggested that others involved in childcare may use our teaching facilities to enrich their knowledge of stimulation and creative play and general loving care.
The hand in hand trust is a registered UK charity (charity no.
1062505). All hand in hand UK personnel are volunteers, so every
penny donated goes to providing care for the children.
